In 1995 I commenced a 3-year position in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Manchester Dental Hospital where I completed the Fellowship in Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and an MSc in Restorative Dentistry.

In 1998 I commenced a 5-year specialist-training pathway in Restorative Dentistry at Sheffield Dental Hospital and the Glenfield Hospital in Leicester. During this time I was awarded the Travel Fellowship by the British Society for the Study of Prosthetic Dentistry and visited the Oslo Cleft Team in Norway and the Branëmark Implant Clinic in Sweden. I also spent time with the Maxillofacial Prosthetist at the Morriston Hospital in Swansea and in conjunction with Leicester General Hospital became involved with the treatment of patients with Sleep Breathing Disorders. At the end of this pathway, in 2003, I completed the Specialist Fellowship in Restorative Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was accredited as an NHS Consultant and entered on the Specialist Lists in Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry.

In addition to above hospital positions, between 1992 and 2001, I worked part-time in 6 dental practices which were both NHS and private.

I was the Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Torbay Hospital from June 2003 until December 2009 and am presently Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and Oral Rehabilitation at Poole Hospital managing the dental service for patients with Head and Neck Cancer treated by the Multidisciplinary Team at the Dorset Cancer Care Centre.

I established a referral clinic – The Specialist Restorative & Implant Dentistry Clinic – based at Poundbury Dental Practice in Dorchester in 2004 taking referrals from local Dental Practitioners. I am relocating this clinic to a specialist referral centre in the centre of Dorchester in July 2013 where I continue to work on mainly on Fridays.
